St Josephs GAA Notes (6/3/2022)
Seniors make it two out of two:
St Josephs 10-20 Mullingar Shamrocks 0-04
St Josephs travelled into Springfield on Sunday for our second game in this years league and we came away with a very comprehensive and surprisingly easy win over Mullingar Shamrocks. Granted it was Mullingar’s third string but the sheer ease of our win was unexpected. Mullingar Shamrocks did have the better of things early on but once St Josephs settled we built up a good lead and at half time we held a 3-09 to 0-3 advantage. If the first half was one way traffic, then the second half was even more so as the forwards had a field day adding on 7-11 to rack up a total of 10-20 which even by early season standards is fairly remarkable. There will be much, much tougher tasks ahead but when one considers that in recent years we were at the receiving end of similar mauling’s, it does make a pleasant change. Well done lads.
