With the forthcoming works due to start at the Community Pitch in the next number of weeks, activity has been ongoing to set up training bases at two locations for all our teams. The two locations being worked on are at Michael Lynams farm on the Syonan Road a half mile from the 4 Roads and at the former Soccer field behind Ryans Shop in Horseleap. St Josephs GAA are extremely grateful to Michael & Veronica Lynam and Breda & Mick Marshall for the use of their properties and also to Nicky Mc Cormack who offered the use of a field to us also. It is great to have such huge community support for our club as without this it would be very difficult to arrange alternatives with neighbouring clubs who have full schedules of their own to manage. Currently, training has resumed at all age groups over the past fortnight and with Adult teams resuming this week, the whole apparatus of our teams is back in full swing. For the coming week, it is expected that training will continue at the community field and at ryans as has been the case for the past couple of weeks. The main GAA goals and some of the mobile goals have been moved to the Temporary fields and when work commences on the new community field, then our home for this year will be at the two fields being worked on at the moment. There has been a huge response from club members to help with groundwork, fencing, plumbing and all other matters needed to make the Temporary fields workable. Please note though that both temporary fields are the property of the respective landowners and we are their guests so at all times, please close gates, keep the properties clean and at all times respect all who will use the fields.
