The Lakesiders secured Senior status for the first time in their history just two years after winning the Premier Junior decider and two local ladies were at the forefront of this outstanding achievement.
A two point victory was hard fought and well deserved, the key score was the 41st-minute goal by local Mairead McCormack, the Castletown Geoghegan attacker rising high to fetch a delivery to the edge of the small square and after being hooked, she slid a ground shot from a tight angle to the net.
A hugh congratulations to the entire westmeath panel and backroom team, but especially to the McCormack Sisters!
